Pool Must Haves

So I thought it would super fun to do a quick little summer pool must haves list.

My favorite book to read poolside: Wild and Free

Ladies this book has been WRECKING ME. Ill be totally honest I bought it and it sat in our house for months. Almost a year. I read the back cover and was like I don’t need this. I am the opposite of what this book is talking about. I assumed the book was for those timid and needing to learn how to express themselves or something. I honestly dunno. Well um, one of the authors pretty much was me and called me out on all my stuff like I couldn’t believe. So all that to say. This book is for me.

My favorite water bottle: My VS pink water bottle

My favorite chapstick: Babo Botanicals Tinted Gloss with SPF

Its a tinted gloss too! Honestly one of my favorites to apply. I love it so much! Its always in my pool bag. Oh, and it has 15 SPF so another reason its a must have on my pool days.

My favorite snack: Apple

Sounds lame, but its true. A sonic frozen strawberry lemonade though is a close second.

I have been trying out a couple new products for sun care as I have been searching for sun care that I love for myself. We use Babo Botanicals for the little guy. And I think I have found my two new favorites. I tried Alba a while back but it was way to gritty for me and honestly it doesn’t score as well on the Think Dirty app. Which if you haven’t gotten the app, do yourself a favor and get it. But when you do chances are you are going to wanna throw out almost everything in your house. And when you do you can check out my blog post on how to make your own DIY house cleaner.

My current favorite facial sunscreen is this Suntegrity 5in1 Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen

Its tinted (I use fair) and honestly looks more like makeup than sunscreen. Theres no grittiness and it kept my skin from burning. Its super light weight which I LOVE for my face. I was out in the pool for a couple hours and got wet and didn’t have any issues with burning.

My favorite hat + coverup: FRANCESCAS

Over the years I have found the place that you can tell sun damage from the quickest is my face HANDS DOWN. Sun damage meaning everything from wrinkles, to dry skin, to those wonderful wrinkles on the sides of my eyes from squinting so much. I remember someone once telling me you can tell the age of a woman by her neck. Thats where most women don’t apply lotion and it does get wrinkly. So lets be real, I apply lotion cause I wanna put that off as long as possible. haha. One of the easiest ways to keep my face from the sun is a hat. Best part is there are so many cute ones to choose from at Francescas. I’m obsessed with this “Hello Sunshine” one.

My favorite all natural sunscreen is Raw Elements Eco 30. It even comes in a plastic free tin. The consistency is just a tad thicker than normal sunscreens but its not gritty like the other natural sunscreens I have tried. Goes on super easy and is non greasy. Its water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Its kid friendly too meaning infants to adults can use this. With No chemicals or fragrances I can definitely get behind this brand! My favorite pool floatie: A unicorn floatie. Because well, everyone needs a little magic in their lives.
